Comparison Verdict:
The machines all do the same thing, but which is the best?
The Dolce Gusto takes Six, two more operations to dispense. It only takes four for the others to make the drink. (this excludes putting a cup in place.) It also lacks the barcode reader for automatic water usage.
The Dolce claims automatic but this is just pre-heating the water, and then a switch to start the water. But both the Nespresso and Tassimo operate by the touch of a button. The Dolce and Tassimo have manually operated lids, the Nespresso has a touch activated smooth opening lid.
If you want good coffee flavour and choice, over machine build then Dolce and Nespresso come top. If you want the best for technology, the Dolce comes last.
Coffee Pod costs were highest with Nespresso. Whereas the other two came with more pods for less price per pack Dolce Gusto pods are quite a bit cheaper. Some pods contain proper coffee vs soluble (instant) coffee, so check the ingredients if you prefer buying “proper coffee” pods
