How To Enable 4G FREE 4G on LG G2 on Tesco Mobile Network Fix

How to change the settings to connect to 4G

The LG G2 D802 does support

LTE (4G) in the UK.
I’ve used the G2 on Three 4G in London
and it has the same RF hardware as the Nexus 5 of which I’ve used on O2 and EE
LTE. The LTE bands supported on the D802 are 800/900/1800/2100/2600 MHz

Change the network settings

on the phone and set 4G Preferred. One way is you can change in the config menu
by dialling *#*#4636#*#* > Phone Information > Set Preferred Network Type
= LTE/GSM/WCDMA? This is a little different to the Nexus 5 that was set as
LTE/GSM auto (PRL)

This assumes that you have a
4G enabled data plan and that your phone had the correct APN settings for your
carrier.

You can set it in the
*#*#4636#*#* menu but a reboot then removes this setting!! I’ll see what I can
find out.

So it would appear that
although the hardware supports LTE, the LG D80220B-EUR-XX KitKat 4.4.2 Official
ROM may not allow you to select LTE for some UK networks.

**Final Update** Tesco

Mobile SIM in an LG G2 (UK,
unlocked, Sim-Free) running JellyBean 4.2.2 and they confirm that they have the
same issue, LTE is not selectable from the preferred networks settings. They
tested an EE card and LTE was available
